All Men Everywhere
Introduction: Scripture Reading- Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
- There are some things in life that simply cannot be avoided.
- Though we have many freedoms, there are some things we cannot choose.
- In fact, there are some things that all men everywhere must do.
- But we have been given the choice to determine the circumstances surrounding these unavoidable things.
- Let’s examine a few things about which we have no choice.
Discussion:
- All Men Everywhere Shall Confess Jesus Christ as Lord
- (Philippians 2:5-11) Everyone should confess.
- (Romans 14:10-12) Everyone shall confess.
- All men should confess Christ now, but if they choose not to, they all will confess him in the life to come.
- You will do this. You have no choice. But you can choose the circumstances. If we choose obedience today or in this life, then our faith and hope will be made sight and we will be able to enter into heaven for all eternity. If we choose to disobey, then our lack of faith will be made sight, because we will have no choice but to believe because he will be standing right there before us and judging us according to his word and we will have no choice but to spend an eternity in everlasting torment.
- All Men Everywhere Shall Be Baptized
- (Mark 16:15-16) Baptism in water.
- (Luke 6:46-49; Matthew 7:21-23).
- Luke 6: Why do you call me Lord and do not my sayings (logos-my Word; John 1; commandments). He who hears my commandments and does them, I will tell you what he is like.
- Matt. 7: Not everyone who calls me Lord will enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that does the will of my Father (obeys God’s Word).
- (Matthew 3:11; Revelation 20:15) Baptism in fire.
- Matt. 3:11 “he (Jesus) will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”
- Vs. 12 “Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner (the righteous); but he will burn up the chaff (unrighteous) with unquenchable fire.”
- This is not a trial by fire or test or a trial period, this will be for all eternity, no getting out.
- Again, everyone will be baptized. You have no choice, but you can choose the element into which you are baptized (water or fire).
- All Men Everywhere Shall Be Resurrected
- (1 Corinthians 15:20-26; 35-58).
- (John 5:28-29). “28. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29. And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.”
- Saint or sinner; good or evil – we will all be resurrected.
- Rev. 20 says there are 2 resurrections of the dead. The first resurrection is our choice in putting to death the old man of sin and being resurrected through baptism in the likeness of Christ’s resurrection. The second death, no will have a choice, according to I Cor. 15 and John 5, all will be raised from the dead from a physical form to a spiritual form to face the Judgment of Christ.
- Everyone will be resurrected. You have no choice, but you can choose the destination of your resurrection. Will you be resurrected unto life eternal in heaven (if you choose the first resurrection and live faithful) or life eternal in torments (if you deny the first resurrection)?
- All Men Everywhere Shall Be Judged
- (Acts 17:30-31).
- (Revelation 20:12-13).
- (John 12:44-50) The standard of judgment is the word of God.
- Everyone will be judged, but you can choose whether Jesus will justify or condemn you.
Conclusion:
- There are some things which we cannot avoid.
- We will all have to confess the Jesus is the Christ.
- We will have to be baptized (immersed).
- We will have to be resurrected.
- We will have to be judged.
- What arrangements have you made concerning these inevitable events?
- Remember there is a time for everything (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8) and today is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:1)
- Invitation: 1. Hear, 2. Believe, 3. Repent, 4. Confess your faith, 5. Be immersed, 6. Live faithful unto death.
